The idea of duration - as inevitable as it is problematic - is apparently impossible to combine with the idea of a point, for instance something point-form in time.
(Theodor Adorno, Aesthetic Theory, 1970. Translation from Finnish by the artist)
Drawings, paperworks and a soundscape. In this exhibition I used mundane papers and scribes such as copying and graph paper, ballpoint pens and pencils as material. In addition I made lines and traces with charcoal, ink and spray paint. Excerpts from different types of texts – art theory, weather reports, journal notes and newspaper articles – worked as a basis and inspiration for the artworks. The recurring subject was a thought process that is varying in clarity, mixed with sensory and emotional impulses and that escapes even from itself.
30.3. Shall we say that now we’re here and doing these things. And later, when it’s time, we’ll be doing other things.
